Your own documents

Answers that cite your own files.

Load your policies, forms and procedures once. From then on the answers follow how you actually work, and each one names the document it came from so you can check it.

A question about the office's own policy is answered from a document held on the device, with the source file named under the reply.

What happens to a document.

  1. You load it once

Policies, intake forms, procedures, fee schedules, the letter formats you already use. Add them once and Marling reads and files them.

  2. It is indexed on the device

The step that reads and files a document runs here. Your documents are never uploaded anywhere, and neither is the index built from them.

  3. An answer pulls the passage it needs

Ask a question and Marling finds the relevant lines rather than the whole file. Only that passage travels, with identifiers removed first.

  4. The reply names its source

Every answer that draws on a document says which one, so you are checking a citation rather than trusting a summary.

It quotes your policy, not a general one

A late-cancellation letter can draw on your own attendance policy, in your own words, and say so. That is the difference between a draft you rewrite and one you sign.

A separate place for how Marling works

Questions about the device itself are answered from our own guides, kept apart from your documents, so product help never turns up in an answer about your work.

Questions careful people ask.

Do our documents get uploaded anywhere?

No. They are read and indexed on the device and stay there. When an answer draws on one, the passage it needs goes out with identifiers removed; the file never does.

How much can we load?

Comfortably a few thousand pages on the standard device, which covers the policies, forms and procedures a small office actually has. A long document takes a few minutes to read in.

What if an answer is wrong?

You can see the source it used and open it. Marling drafts and cites; you review and decide, the same as with anything else it produces.
